Accessibility statement
About our website’s accessibility
Statement
We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our website in line with the European standard EN 301 549, which incorporates the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. This standard forms the basis for compliance with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and supports alignment with international accessibility requirements, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The Secrid website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
What is already accessible:
We have focused on making the most important parts of the shopping journey accessible. Our main user journeys, including browsing products, searching for items, adding to cart, and checking out, are accessible to users who rely on assistive technologies (such as screen readers) and keyboard navigation.
We have also made most of our interactive components, such as the engraving service, product carousels, and drop-down menus, accessible to ensure they can be used with assistive technologies and keyboard navigation.
Our videos are provided with descriptive captions.
Known limitations for the Secrid website:
Contrasts: Some text and background colour combinations may not meet the required contrast ratios. We are currently updating our design system to ensure all elements meet WCAG standards.
Informational images: We are working on improving descriptive alt text for all non-decorative images across our website, ensuring that users with screen readers can understand the visual content.
Video content: Our videos don’t have spoken text. We strive to improve the accessibility of our video content for users with low/impaired vision, by improving the Alt text.
The method used to prepare the statement was a manual review, based on the requirements of the EN 301 549 standard.standards.
